Who We Are (What is HIMC)?


The Hollywood International Movie Center (HIMC), is an international film program committed to advancing knowledge and skills in filmmaking to foreign students on the basis of their needs. Whether you are a "do it yourself" enthusiast or a film student our program has something to offer you. The HIMC offers classes in acting, filmmaking and television journalism. Each one is a full time course of study consisting of lectures, performance, production classes and postproduction subjects. We provide the opportunity for students to explore and experience all the realms of filmmaking so they can discover who they are and what they want to be.

HIMC best students get jobs in the production of feature films and television projects of HIMC.

PRODUCTION


Hollywood International Movie Center has its own production of feature films, TV series and shows. One of the areas of HIMC Production is a film production on the Russian themes and adaptation of works of Russian classical literature for the US and world market.

HIMC intends to attract to work the best HIMC students in its production..

Why Us (Why HIMC)?


The Hollywood film industry is unique in that it markets the "American experience.” Speed, efficiency and optimum results are the bottom line. No place does it better than Hollywood. We at HIMC have created a program to train actors, filmmakers and video journalists from around the world. Our intensive four-week program combines practice with theory. The learning we provide does not stop in the classroom. Our students have Hollywood at their doorstep. They have full access to the people, places, culture and excitement Hollywood has to offer.

Our expectation is that our graduates will be able to use the skills and direction we provide to become skilled professionals capable of finding employment in the film industry. We expect them to either continue their education or join the workplace and help lead the way to modernization and advancement. We want our students to gain a working understanding of the film business, as it exists today.

Our Affiliations/Our FACILITY


The Hollywood International Movie Center (HIMC) offers a 4 week (160 hrs.) accelerated program in the disciplines of filmmaking, acting and TV journalism. It is designed to give you hands on experience in the field. You will learn how to be creative within a time frame and a budget. With the guidance of our experienced faculty, you will come as close as anyone can to the real Hollywood filmmaking experience.

Our program is affiliated with Columbia College in Hollywood (CCH) and Emerson College in Los Angeles (ELA). These connections place enormous resources at our disposal that we offer entirely to you.

HIMC operates from Emerson College's (ELA) main building. It is a modern facility located in the heart of Hollywood. ELA provides HIMC with offices, classrooms, an auditorium, a screening room, audio and video labs, music rehearsal studios and study halls. ELA also has a dormitory to accommodate as many as 217 students. We also provide students with comfortable apartments in Park La Brea nearby.

SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE


The supervisory committee is a collegial body of distinguished filmmakers and TV journalists. Its function is to guide and control the activities of the Hollywood International Movie Center in accordance with its charter. This committee makes certain that HIMC may best meet its goals: (1) offer quality training to students during their stay in the US. (2) Maintain standards of excellence. (3) Search and recruit top talent from around the world to participate in the HIMC program and safeguard it's integrity.

Lionel is an Academy Award nominee and a multiple winner of the WGA (Writer's Guild of America) Award. He also has many film International awards for his work. Lionel is an author of more than 30 films and TV shows.
