Eminem's 2017 album, Revival, may have struggled to find commercial success, but his latest surprise release, Kamikaze, is already on its way to making big money and breaking records.
In the United Kingdom, Shady's new album is rising up worldwide charts and the U.K.'s Official Chart midweek update shows Kamikaze prime to take the top spot, which would earn Em his ninth consecutive British No. 1 album and break the record for most consecutive No. 1 albums, Forbes reports.
The album is also looking to find success in the United States, where it logged a strong Labor Day weekend on streaming services. According to Hits Daily Double, Kamikaze currently has six songs in the top 10 of Spotify's U.S. chart and also has the No. 1 album on iTunes. As for earning the top spot on the Billboard 200, Shady will have to battle K-Pop group BTS for the coveted position.
It's yet to be seen how Kamikaze will do commercially in the U.S., but it fares to do better than Revival, which has yet to be certified gold. While the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, it dropped out of the top spot in its second week.
Kamikaze is being called a return to form for Eminem, and a few disses on the album may also see Shady returning to beefing with other artists. After throwing a shot at MGK on the track "Not Alike," the Cleveland rapper fired back with a diss of his own, releasing the song "Rap Devil."
